Anna and Bailey are watching Game of Thrones and eating takeout in Anna’s apartment. She has sparse furniture, very modern and clean. Her old roommate got married and took most of the furniture with her when she moved, and all that is left is sterile looking ikea furniture. Bailey is a slob. She lives in her parent’s basement and prefers a more “lived in” decor. She sits with her feet kicked up on the coffee table, eating takeout pad thai out of the box with chopsticks, sauce whipping on her face as she slurps the noodles. Anna eats her takeout on a plate with a knife and fork sitting on the ground, legs crossed under the coffee table.
“I don’t care what you say, Jon Snow isn’t dead. He survived those arrows that one time, don’t you think he can live through this? Next week we will know for sure and you will eat your words. Want to watch it at my house? I have bean bags.”
“Bailey you know those are bad for my back. There is no way he is still alive, this show takes everything you love and rips it away, so it’s only natural for him to be killed off.”
“ You know I hate having to take the bus all the way out here, there’s always that weird guy with the ponytail, I told you about how he tried to smell me, right? Plus you have a car so it only makes sense for you to come to me. Wouldn’t it be so much easier if we just lived together?...Oh my god can I move in with you?!”
“I..uh...well..You would be so much farther away from work though, it wouldn’t make sense for you to move in here.”
“Yeah but the bus station is right there, plus you are looking for someone to move in anyway after Claire moved in with Derek, right? We would be perfect! I can cook, you like my food. You clean because you’re all OCD and clean everything all the time even when it’s like already clean. You have a car which is so convenient, like we could totally share. I could bring in some more furniture..This is going to be great!”
“Well slow down, we don’t know if you can move in yet. You might not even like it here. You wouldn’t be able to bring Egg, you know you can’t live without your cat. This apartment doesn’t allow pets”
“I thought the people next door have a cat? Weren’t you talking about how Frankie had to get shaved and looks like a lion? They don’t really care about cats, just dogs. And you love Egg!”
“I’m..allergic to cats.”
“Really? I thought you had one growing up? Well I guess I can leave Egg at my parent’s. He likes exploring the yard and everything.”
“ I don’t think you would really want to move in with me. This place is so small compared to your basement. I don’t even have a laundry machine.”
“It’s small, but if we brought in some more rugs and pillows it would be nice and cozy. I’d have to put more lamps in here, and change out the lightbulbs for something a little warmer and inviting. Oh and we can put candles over there and…”
“Bailey I don’t want candles. I have a good number of pillows already, you only need one a person and this couch seats two people.”
“Well we would have to get a new couch, if I move in we are going to invite more people over so we would need a bigger couch. Maybe I could ask my parents if I could take the bean bags. Everyone loves bean bags”
“But Bailey, those clash with everything about this apartment. Red, stained bean bags don’t go with the grey theme of this place. It would ruin the Feng Shui of the whole place.”
“You literally have never mentioned Feng Shui before this moment. Claire had those God-awful rugs on the wall that didn’t match either!”
“Those were hand-woven tapestries, works of art. Plus even if I wanted to she would never have taken them down.”
“Do you just not want to live with me? Because It sounds like all you are doing is making excuses and reasons not for me to move in”
“..I..what..pssh, thats ridiculous you are so fun it would be great to live with you.”
“Okay, I get it. You think I’m a big slob or whatever. I get it.” She throws her chopsticks in the noodles and walks over to the kitchen in a huff and starts to grab her purse and keys to leave “You wouldn’t be that fun to live with either, you are so anal about everything we would never have any fun”
“No..wait..” Anna follows her into the kitchen.”You know I love you, I just don’t think we would be good together. Please understand that.” Bailey ignores her and walks to the door. “Don’t leave, I didn’t mean to make you upset” Bailey leaves the apartment and walks down the stairs to the ground level, her footsteps loud and angry.
